Customer relationship management (CRM) is a commonly used service for managing a company’s interactions with its customers, clients and future sales prospects. A CRM uses technology to help businesses organize, automate and maintain business processes specifically involving many clients.

Salesforce, a popular CRM, has launched a new service called UpsideLive, provided by Upside Software, designed to enhance the cloud-computing platform. The new service is the first online marketplace for cloud computing applications.

Customers can use the full contract management functionality without installing or integrating any other services or products.

“We are very excited to launch our new UpsideLive for Salesforce application on the AppExchange,” said Ashif Mawji, President and CEO of Upside Software. “The app was built based on customer feedback on their contracting processes, the challenges they face and the lessons they have learned. By combining their feedback with our industry expertise – our number-one industry rated product line has been pushed to the next level. We listened to what our customers told us.”

The AppExchange Web site said it is currently offering over 500 applications to current Salesforce users. Some of those include: a FedEx Shipping App, helps manage shipping inside of Salesforce; iContact, an award-winning mass email marketing application; ExactTarget Email, a email marketing application; and a Gmail Integration that allows users to add their personal or business email right in the CRM.

Having UpsideLive will only help enhance the already growing demand for cloud applications.

“Customers continue to look to our partners as they transform themselves into social enterprises, and partners like Upside Software are helping them with that shift,” said Mike Rosenbaum, Senior Vice President of AppExchange and Force.com Operations.

The service, launched only a few months ago, has hundreds of applications to integrate with the Salesforce CRM. The most popular applications already have hundreds of reviews from users letting businesses know what to expect with the integration.

Applications such as PowerDialer, Adobe (News - Alert), Appirio Cloud, Email Integration and LinkedIn already all have reviews giving the applications four or more stars. The AppExchange, similarly to other app stores, offers paid and free applications.

Salesforce subscribers can sign up for the AppExchange service now online and begin downloading from the list of applications.
