payvia's New Mobile Payments Service Focuses On Online Payments
With music already firmly established as a digital delivery product, and movies, TV shows, books and even art following suit, having a platform that can handle carrier payments is a smart idea. It gives users a new option, one that may well feel more secure, and as such, serves as an inducement to buy. If buying online is easier, safer and simpler, then more people may well do it. More buyers means more money, more money means more competitors, and more competitors generally means more jobs and more jobs means good news all around.
The payvia system may well be part of an impressive new movement in online commerce, and it should prove exciting to see just where it goes.

TMCnet Online Project Management Week in Review
In other news, Clarizen’s white paper, “7 Things the ‘Accidental’ Project Manager Needs to Know,” pointed out that online project management goals typically involve milestones and deadlines that serve as a point on the horizon.
Other points brought up include, considering which team member should be assigned to each task as the online project management process becomes more detailed, keeping all lines of communication open at all times and identifying which tasks are critical and can’t wait.
Another article this week also dealt with Clarizen, comparing its project management software to Deskaway’s. Both proved to be solid examples in providing high quality project management, sharing similar features like allowing users to work remotely and the ability to integrate with other products, including Google (News

TMCnet's Online Project Management Week in Review
Making Google Drive compatible with the new online project management system streamlines the storage process. “Now, Google Drive makes this easier as a single place to store all your files and access them from anywhere,” said Mark Mader, CEO of Smartsheet. “We’re very excited about this deeper level of integration and the increased convenience it delivers to our customers.”

Meanwhile, the State of Utah’s Division of Facilities and Construction Management (DFCM) decided to use AssetWorks, AiM Capital Project Management, to be in charge of all the construction and capital planning initiatives throughout the state.
This new management system will be in charge of almost 500 projects, which total over $1 billion. Gregg Buxton, DFCM’s director said, “AiM Capital Project Management will allow us to break down organizational silos by providing a single solution and a single authoritative database for all DFCM employees. It’s all about shared resources. For instance, our Construction Division can pinpoint warranty information that can save our Facilities Division time and labor downstream.”
It’s important to stay on top of these projects because many of them require paperwork to be completed before, during, and after construction. This will help the state stay on top of everything going on statewide from a single interface. The AiM Capital Project Management has been helping the DFCM improve in both accuracy and speed of reporting projects.

Mini Swamy, reported that Project Management Software, a mid-market solution for managing projects will be allowing for multiple people and project management.
“Project Insight, a mid-market solution for managing projects, offers data migration of Basecamp data into products and creates a solid foundation for intelligent scheduling and a robust work breakdown structure,” reported Swamy. Project Insight allows for extraction of data from a Basecamp system and migrate it to Project Insight, which will apply enhanced tools to allow for schedule, allocating, and collaborating with multiple people and projects at the same time.
The company is offering a promotion where the first 100 migrations come at no cost. However, as we all know well most people will be transferring more than 100 migrations between them. According to Swamy, further migrations cost around $1400.

Lastly, since online project management deals with multiple people it’s good to have a issue management or a help section available for users, Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor, gave some tips to users helping them find the right solution to support issue tracking.
Campbell said, “It’s easy to see at first glance that some project management solutions may offer a valued approach in the management of projects, especially when the key focus is scheduling, resource tracking, reporting or other elements of the project,” said Campbell. “Without built-in issue tracking, the project management solution falls short. In fact, it’s possible the solution could even create more issues than it should be designed to prevent.”
Some of Campbell’s tips include: making sure the online project management’s built in tracking is there to help you; there is a resolution process, and the capability to manage all projects within the same location.

Advances in Technology Bring Entire 1940 Census Online
Advances in technology have helped companies create virtualized worlds enabling them to sync all their data into the cloud. Users can now get their hands on smartphone devices that have applications for just about everything. Now, that technology has helped The National Archives by allowing the company to put the entire 1940’s census online for the first time for free.
This morning, The National Archives, announced it was able to scan the entire census document and put it online at 1940census.archives.gov, granting access to users all over the world. All a user needs is an Internet connection and he/she can search through millions of digitally scanned documents. These documents have been available online before through websites such as Ancestry.com and other genealogy websites. However, all of those required a subscription and only show users one page at a time in line with their search query.
The National Archives group plans on taking advantage of over thousands of volunteers to help complete the project by building a database that permits users to not only search by location, but by name and other more specific details over the next few months.
David Ferriero, National Archives chief, spoke at the launch event in Washington saying this is a big day for The National Archives and the world.
“We now have access to a street-level view of a country in the grips of a depression and on the brink of global way,” said Ferriero referring to the fact that the 1940 census was taken during a hard time in United States history.
Ferriero said 120,000 people helped the organization by collecting information on over 130 million people to include in the census database. Researchers were even able to contact some people that signed the census that are still alive today. This information could help connect families all over the world.
Censuses are used to collect population data of that current year. For example, if you were to look at the first page from the 1940’s census, you could find an entire families history such as the mother, father, if they had any children, when they came to America, what language they spoke, what they did, how much money they made, and even if they rent or own a home. A lot of times these documents are used to help families now trace their history back in time.

eVacuumStore.com Adds Miele Vacuum Cleaners Product Line to its Online Catalogue
eVacuumStore.com recently announced the expansion of its online catalogue with the addition of a new premium line of Miele vacuum cleaners. Customers who visit the website will now be able to look up and purchase the Miele line of products along with a number of accessories.
In a release, Bob Evans, senior customer care specialist at eVacuumStore, said that, “We are thrilled to finally be able to offer such a quality machine to our customers. Miele offers a durable and powerful vacuum cleaner that provides the user with years and years of high powered cleaning efficiency in a quality, durable machine. The technology and efficiency that comes with a Miele appliance is unsurpassed.”
Miele features a wide range of German-engineered vacuum cleaners, which have been designed with powerful suction and sealed filtration to alleviate dust, dirt, and allergens from the home.
eVacuumStore will feature the Miele S6 series which include the Red Velvet, Topaz, Onyx and Quartz models developed to drive the concept of green cleaning. Miele products are built to last and have been certified with the Good Housekeeping Green seal of approval. This means customers can ask for a replacement or a refund on the product within 2 years of purchase.
Recently, the Miele S7 series Twist upright vacuum cleaner earned high ratings on Consumer Reports. The S7210 Twist comes with a powerful 1200 watt Vortex motor which offers strong suction during cleaning while its swiveling neck increases maneuverability around even the most difficult spots.
Joe Turner, a repair specialist at eVacuumStore, said that, “What makes Miele different from other vacuum cleaners is the amount of precision and quality assurance that goes into the design of each model. We've been repairing machines of all brands for years and we very rarely find any issues with Miele vacuum cleaners; this is because they are designed to last the user for many years, unlike the less expensive vacuums found in department stores.”
