Epson America has announced its latest innovation, an Android (News - Alert)-powered see-through wearable display that features built-in Wi-Fi, 6 hours of rechargeable battery life and comes with a microSDHC card slot that allows users to download content. The micro-projection technology displays a virtual 80-inch perceived screen and Epson hopes the “floating” display technology will allow users to enjoy a more seamless experience when watching videos, playing video games and browsing the Web.

Regarding this new and latest display,  Anna Jen, director of New Business Development at Epson America said, “As the world leader in visual imaging technology, Epson continually strives to set industry benchmarks for quality and innovation. The Moverio BT (News - Alert)-100 see-through display is poised to significantly impact not only the way people interact with content for personal enjoyment, but the development of content for future applications - from virtual training platforms to a new way to interact with 3D CAD environments to visualizing 3D design renderings.”

Other features that the new Enhanced Mobility and New Content Interaction Moverio BT-100, as it is called, will have include a removable built-in memory card that supports up to 32GB, ability to interact with apps online with a 1GB internal user storage, touch-enabled track pad navigation and support for surround sound. The new Maverio BT-100 is currently going for $699.99 on Epson online stores and other selected pre-seller locations like Amazon.

Epson is a global provider of imaging and innovation technology and aims to provide compact, high-precision and energy-saving technologies that range from their well-known printers to other enterprise and home devices. The new Maverio BT-100 is another addition to their innovations.

In other news, Epson recently unveiled a new printer series. The newly announced WorkForce Pro C Series is a next generation inkjet printer series that targets smaller work groups and comes with some unique features. Successor to the last years WorkForce Pro, the C Series builds on its predecessor and has been designed exclusively for the SMB section.
