It also uses the Pravail enterprise solution, which businesses deploy in front of services to stop application-layer attacks and disrupt botnet communications. Behind all Arbor products is ATLAS, the company’s research and intelligence organization that does threat analysis; deploys probes on service provider networks to get a broad view of what’s happening; and designs products to address those attacks. ATLAS has been in existence for about five years, says Bienkowski, but Arbor Networks is in the midst of expanding that effort by adding new people, additional probes, and building consortiums to collaborate on threat analysis.
