It's no surprise: this is the phone we've been waiting for. Apple confirmed this morning that pre-orders of the upcoming iPhone 5 reached 2 million in just 24 hours. That number pushes the iPhone 4S pre-orders out of the top slot by nearly double. Apple also mentioned that some customers will be left behind as demand for the device is exceeding the supply.
