Spring is in full bloom as are technological innovations in the embedded M2M solutions space. From extending partnerships to announcing new survey results, the embedded M2M solutions space was abuzz with news.

Kicking off the week, provider of business payment processing and information management solutions Wright Express Corporation recently announced that it has extended its contract with Enterprise Fleet Management, Inc, a full-service fleet management business for companies with medium-size fleets. Wright Express prides itself on helping a multitude of industries expand their businesses by delivering fleet, prepaid and corporate payment solutions, transaction processing and information management programs. With Wright’s fleet solutions in tow, customers can enjoy unparalleled security and control across a wide spectrum of business sectors, according to company officials.

“Wright Express began its relationship with Enterprise in 1993,” noted David D. Maxsimic, executive vice president of sales and marketing at Wright Express, in a statement “Our longstanding partnership with Enterprise has been very successful and we attribute this to successful collaborative selling between the Enterprise offices and the Wright Express sales team and to the commitment to exceptional customer service both companies share.”

Also this week, GE Captial Fleet Services unveiled a new way for fleet managers to increase their visibility of and control over toll expenses, while reducing administrative tasks and cost burdens, through its new toll management program. According to GE, municipalities increasingly use toll collection as a source of revenue with the average toll violation increasing 20 percent from 2010 to 2011 to $60 per violation. The new program will launch in the US.

Those vehicles enrolled in the program will use electronic tolling lanes, a faster and typically cheaper alternative to cash lanes. Through this program, all toll accounts are consolidated and managed by GE Capital Fleet Services, relieving the pressure from fleet managers, who otherwise oversee numerous toll accounts and work with multiple toll authorities to pay violations and reconcile errors, according to company officials.

“In addition to delivering hard cost savings and helping eliminate toll violations, this program increases the productivity of fleet managers and drivers because they no longer have to spend time on administrative details, such as submitting and processing expense reports or auditing toll charges,” Brad Hoffelt, senior vice president and general manager of products and services at GE Capital Fleet Services, said.
