Favs is an app nobody should need. You should be able to flag favorites on social networks and almost instantly find your curated content at a later date, no matter how far into the past it was defined. But back here on Planet Reality, favorites rapidly disappear from view, becoming difficult to find once they’re more than a few days old. And if you engage with several social networks, you have the added complication of remembering which one you should start searching in.
Favs elegantly solves this problem. You sign in to your networks and Favs quickly downloads your favorites. These can be searched, aggregated into a single feed, and previewed on an individual basis. The previews are slick: for example, select a Twitter favorite and you’ll see the original tweet and information about who composed it, along with a preview of any webpage the tweet links to. In full-screen mode, this preview’s perfectly readable on most Macs, but you can also easily access the original source.
The bottom line. Clearly, Favs is an app for a particular type of person, one who uses social network favorites for more than passing compliments.
